Editorial Note (Journalistic Essay)

In Kyiv, the capital of Ukraine, people woke up to the explosions of missiles fired by Russia instead of their alarms. As a product of Russia’s aggressive expansionist policy, which started with the invasion of Russia in 2014, it continued with the Russian Federation’s recognition of the so-called state formations in the Donbass and Luhansk regions on the territory of Ukraine on February 21, 2022. This decision of the Russian Federation is a violation of international law and a developing process contrary to peaceful policies. The decisions of the Russian leader Vladimir Putin, following the aggressive expansionist policy of the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, will lead to nothing but condemning the people of the Russian Federation to years of misery. With the cruel occupation by Russia on February 24, 2022, the Russian federation has taken a bloody decision that will not be forgotten throughout the history of humanity. The Russian Armies and the Ukrainian armies in different regions of Ukraine are in a hot conflict as of today. The attacks of the Russian army targeting civilians and civilian settlements are a war crime. In this process, which continues with the heroic resistance of the Ukrainian army and people, it is clear that the Russian expansionist policy, which has led to the destruction of the international peace environment, cannot achieve an international gain. The invasion movement of Russia will result in a great economic and political disappointment. We do not stop defending freedom and independence in the face of ideologies that interfere with the internal affairs of states and are injected into people with oppression. We closely follow the bloody Russian occupation in Ukraine and support the rightful position of the heroic Ukrainian people based on international law.
